Skopje, 21 December 2009. The second seminar in the current "History Project" series was held in the Macedonian Museum in Skopje. Participants were teachers, museum experts and representatives of other institutions from the education sector.
After organizing the regional conference under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Canton Sarajevo within the History Project: “Remember for the Future” from 2-5 July 2009 dvv international supported an organization of the Follow-Up-Seminar in Bosnia & Herzegovina. During the Sarajevo Conference the participants, Museum Specialists, were asked to link with a previous target group of the History Project – history teachers and to establish networks of museum workers and history teachers on a national level.
In October 2009 the Regional Office of dvv-international received one project proposal from Museum of Macedonia from Skopje and decided to give a financial support (2.000,00 EUR) for organization of one Follow-Up-Seminar.
The seminar was organized on 21st of December 2009 in the Museum of Macedonia. The participants were teachers from primary and secondary schools, museum workers, researchers, archeologists, representatives from the Ministry of Education and representatives of the National Office of dvv-international in Macedonia. During the seminar the participants were sharing ideas about history itself, methods of different pedagogical activities in museums and multi-perspective view on history. Following topics were discussed:
- Unbreakable bond between history and archeology and
- Multidisciplinary approach to history research
Besides that the participants also show big interest for a potential of history to contribute the reconciliation in the West Balkan countries.
