February , 2016- Due to visual impairments, blind persons are not capable to carry out any kind of work. However, lack of eyesight does not make them useless following the attendance of a professional training, which will provide them with a better access to the labor market.
Over the last months, DVV International has supported the Kosovo Association of the Blind for integration of blind persons into social life and their training for independent life.
The project, which is being be implemented in cooperation with the Kosovo Association of the Blind in 2016, has been entitled “Training of blind persons for the labor market and their employment in the Call Centers in Kosovo.”
The training will be held within the Municipal Associations of the Blind in Kosovo.
This project, which was implemented last year in four other Kosovo municipalities, will last three months and envisages implementation of the training program on information technology, communication and presentation for 24 persons from the municipalities of Gjakovë , Malishevë and Mitrovicë.
There are several Call Centers in Kosovo, which have expressed their readiness to hire blind people capable of performing this sort of work .
These persons are expected to be employed and generate self-incomes following this there-month training.
